The group Ednaswap formed in Los Angeles in 1993, soon after recording an acoustic demo that resulted in a deal with the East/West label.

Anne Preven (lead singer; lyrics writer) and her friends decided to name their alternative rock band after the Anne’s nightmare: there was an ordinary band called Ednaswap; one night they were playing a gig at a local club. They were booed offstage; a horrible thing for any band to endure. Before any more happened, Anne woke up.

Original band lineup was Anne Preven (vocals), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Scott Cutler (guitar), Paul Bushnell (bass) and Carla Azar (drums).

Their self-titled debut followed in 1995; Ednaswap's stay at the label was anything but pleasant, however, and when the band returned a year later with the EP Chicken they'd jumped to Island Independent. Wacko Magneto followed in 1997; soon after, singer Natalie Imbruglia scored a major hit with her cover of Ednaswap's "Torn," although the song's success failed to stir up interest in the group's LP, 1998's Wonderland Park, and so they disbanded in the spring of 1999.

As it turned out, Anne and Rusty were on hand to represent the band's thoughts on their rapid rise to success and the mind trips that keep them on the road. Scott Cutler, Carla Azar, and Paul Bushnell also contribute to the band's "post-modern, neo-psychedelic" sound.

Though most Ednaswap members didn’t have experience in the organizing music scene, with the exception of Rusty, each member of this band more than made up for any lack of experience by performing with instinctive talent and creativity, not to mention also fair share of intelligence - Anne graduated from Harvard University.

The band lineups changed several times and final lineup which existed up to the end was: Anne Preven (vocals), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Scott Cutler (guitar), Paul Bushnell (bass) and Scot Coogan (drums).

After Ednaswap broke up Anne has formed her new band called Annetenna which included: Anne Preven (vocals), Scott Cutler (guitar and keyboards), Scot Coogan (drums) and Dave Levita (drums).
