Anne
Preven – lead singer and lyrics writer. She is from New York. She began
playing classical music at
age 5 and gave that up as a teenager. But later talking about music which
has influenced her she’ll say
"Classical music, since I was forcibly chained to my violin from an early
age. Plus, whatever was on the AM radio dial on the way to and from school". Also her
inspirations include The Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Paul Auster,
and Isabelle Allende. She is a Harvard graduate and began writing songs
while attending school. She once worked in a mental hospital. |

Carla
Azar - played drums for the majority of Ednaswap's run. She is originally
from Alabama. And Anne Preven says about "Carla's mom was a jazz pianist
cool cat back in the day, so I think she got a lot of that plus a good dose
of Looney Tunes". She was inspired to play drums when she first saw
Stewart Copeland of The Police. Her wild method of drumming is inspired by
Elvin Jones, Mitch Mitchell, Clyde Stubblefield, and Peter Sellers. It is
often said that she drums with her eyes closed. |

Paul
Bushnell - played bass when Ednaswap was still together. He came to the
U.S. from Ireland in 1991. His mother was a singer and his father a
drummer, and can play a variety of instruments. He played for many bands
after coming to Los Angeles. And now you can also catch Paul on the Rusty
Anderson recent album "Undressing Underwater" playing bass. |

Scott
Cutler - is the band's rhythm guitarist and also plays keyboards. He is
originally from Northern California. He had been playing music for ten
years before joining Ednaswap. His style can be compared to and his
influence is drawn from AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Stooges, Marvin Gaye, and
Sly Stone. |
