Rusty
Anderson had a lot of thoughts about creating his own rock band when
he was a member of La Habra Highs class of 1976.
"My
friends were all musicians", says Anderson. "If they werent
musicians, Id literally force them to become musicians. Id say, "You
want to be my friend? Here, play bass".
Such
aspiration helped Rusty and some of his friends Dirk VanTatenhove and Myles Crawley to form their
first band
named Eulogy.
After
winning on an amateur competition "Battle of the Bands" Eulogy has
attracted the attention of a few Hollywood record labels and among
them was famous Arista Records. But Eulogy couldnt impress them and
were turned down. After this fail the band was regrouped several times,
guys changed their names, but after all Eulogy broke up.
For
earning money Rusty began giving guitar lessons at Whittier Music
and at the same he began writing his own material.
Later
with the help of ex-Eulogy manager Mike Jackobs he formed his new
group The Living Daylights. During The Living Daylights existence,
Rusty has met David Kahne, who was working as a producer for The Bangles.
Kahne hired Anderson to lay down a few Hendrix-inspired reverse guitar
tracks on the groups 1985 album, "A Different Light", there was also
famous guitar part for "Walk Like An Egyptian".
After
Daylights broke up Rusty played in a few groups such as The Andersons
and The Animal Logic until he became a member of the band named
Ednaswap. |
